Date: 01.10.2019

To: National Focal Points, CEPA Government Focal Points and CEPA NGO Focal Points

At the 13th meeting of the Conference of Contracting Parties (COP13), the Parties mandated the CEPA Oversight Panel, through paragraphs 24, 25, 26 and 27 of Resolution XIII.5 on Review of the fourth Strategic Plan of the Ramsar Convention, with the following tasks:

  • to present the new CEPA approach at SC59 and a draft resolution on this subject to COP14;

The CEPA Oversight Panel 2016-2018 has made a report with recommendations on future direction (in the Annex B) that proposes focus on making CEPA more strategic, integrated and effective in achieving wetland protection and wise use.

The current CEPA Oversight Panel developed this survey for National Focal Points, CEPA Government Focal Points and CEPA NGO Focal Points to contribute to the CEPA review by sharing your experience and insights. Results from this survey will be used in development of the new approach on CEPA implementation.

The deadline for submitting the survey is 14th of October 2019.
