2021 Theme: Wetlands and Water
Wetlands and Water is the theme for the 2021 edition.

Happy New Year 2021!
World Wetlands Day is rapidly approaching. For the 2021 edition, We encourage you to raise awareness about the value of wetlands for freshwater.
More than 200 events have been registered on the World Wetlands Day event map. If you have not yet added your event or activity, please login here or register here to add your event.
Please be reminded that all information materials are available to download at www.worldwetlandsday.org/materials in English, French and Spanish. Thanks to the Mediterranean Wetland initiative (MedWet) some of the materials are available in Arabic.
Also available is the World Wetlands Day Statement from the Secretary General Ms. Martha Rojas Urrego (https://ramsar.org/news). A video on wetlands and freshwater will be available to download on the youtube channel of the Convention on 1 February 2021. The production of this video was made possible by a grant from the Norwegian Environment Agency. The Danone Group has financially supported the production of materials for World Wetlands Day. The 2021 edition includes as key partners UN Water, the Norwegian Environment Agency and IUCN.
