Decisions taken intersessionally during February 2021 by the Standing Committee

The Secretariat is pleased to inform Contracting Parties of the following Decisions taken intersessionally during February 2021 by the Standing Committee:
Decision: The Standing Committee approved for SC59 to be held in Gland, Switzerland on 21-25 June 2021.
Decision: The Standing Committee approved the use of the same Ramsar Wetlands Conservation Awards criteria and process used during the 2016-2018 triennium for selecting winners for COP14.
The call for applications and information on the application process will be shared with Contracting Parties in a Diplomatic Note to be sent on 2 March 2021.
Decision: The Standing Committee approved the COP14 provisional agenda with amendments provided by Standing Committee members.
A Diplomatic Note will be sent on 3 March.
Decision: The Standing Committee approved the remaining budgeted allocation of CHF 10,000 from the original proposal of CHF 25,000 to two of the four eligible Ramsar Regional Initiatives (RRIs) in the context of Decision SC58-28, for their activities in 2020, from the core budget line D “Support to Regional Initiatives”. The two RRIs are the Regional Ramsar Initiative for Central Asia and the Indo-Burma Ramsar Regional Initiative.
Submission of draft resolutions
Per the Rules of Procedure, the deadline for submission draft resolutions is 21 April 2021. A Diplomatic Note will be sent on 3 March. Guidance on the preparation and submission of draft resolutions will be provided to all Contracting Parties in a subsequent communication from the Secretariat.
The Secretariat will continue to inform Contracting Parties of any further intersessional decisions of the Standing Committee.
