Flore Lafaye de Micheaux appointed as Senior Advisor (Europe)

The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands is pleased to announce that Ms Flore Lafaye de Micheaux has been appointed to the position of Senior Advisor (Europe).
Flore brings to the Secretariat deep and highly relevant scientific, policy and governance experience, having worked with IUCN and the Government of France, most recently as a National Focal Point to the Convention on Wetlands.
Flore holds a PhD in political ecology and master’s degrees in environmental sciences and civil engineering, with practical work experience in environmental and water policies, flood management, coastal ecosystem restoration and international cooperation.
Flore will join the Secretariat from 15 June 2023, acting as the lead contact point for the Europe Region and its 48 Contracting Parties, as well as taking a global lead role in supporting the Secretariat’s work in thematic areas. She will be a member of the Secretariat’s Senior Management Team.
