Intersessional online meeting of the Standing Committee, 29 June 2023, to consider the STRP work plan for 2023-2025

At the 25th meeting of the Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP25), which took place from 2 to 5 May 2023, the STRP concluded development of its work plan for the 2023-2025 triennium. The proposed work plan is attached with the present message. The work plan is also published as Annex 1 of document SC62 Doc.19 Report of the Chair of the Scientific and Technical Review Panel including draft work plan for 2023-2025, see https://www.ramsar.org/document/sc62-doc19-report-of-the-chair-of-the-scientific-and-technical-review-panel-including-draft.
Pursuant to paragraph 15 of Resolution XIV.14 on Future implementation of scientific and technical aspects of the Convention for 2023-2025, the STRP requested intersessional approval of the work plan by the Standing Committee.
The Executive Team considered this request in its meeting of 24 May, and agreed with the benefit of an intersessional approval which would provide the Panel with more time to begin work and to complete their tasks. On the recommendation of the Executive Team, the Management Working Group was consulted to seek its endorsement of requesting intersessional approval of the work plan. The Management Working Group had no objection to proceeding intersessionally.
Accordingly, the Chair of the Standing Committee, Dr. XIA Jun, invites you to an intersessional meeting of the Standing Committee on 29 June, from 13:00 to 15:00 CEST, to consider the following agenda items:

Opening of the meeting

Presentation of the STRP workplan 2023-2025 by the STRP Chair, followed by discussion

Approval of the STRP workplan 2023-2025

Any other business
