Strategic Plan 5 consultation process – online survey

5th Strategic Plan consultation process
Through Resolution XIV.4 the Contracting Parties of the Convention on Wetlands agreed on the framework for preparation of the 5th Strategic Plan. The Resolution confirms the role of the Strategic Plan Working Group, and outlines the principals guiding the process and the elements which should inform the draft. Consultation with partners and stakeholders will take place in the next few months to help inform the development of the 5th Strategic Plan.
Instructions for completing the online survey
The first stage of consultation is an online survey to facilitate full participation of all partners and stakeholders. Individuals, societies and organizations are invited to complete a short online survey to share their views. In particular, Indigenous Peoples, youth, all women and girls, local communities and the business sector are invited to contribute.
This online survey is designed to help shape more focused consultations that will continue during the development of the Strategic Plan.
All sectors of government and society have a role to play in the achieving the wise use of wetlands, so it is important that a wide range of views are received to make the 5th Strategic Plan successful. Please can you share the online survey link (below) with all government departments at national, regional and local levels. It is important that government departments outside of environmental sectors contribute, so please distribute widely.
It is important that organisations outside of government are consulted, so please share the online survey link with business and industry, non-governmental organisations, Indigenous Peoples, local communities and wetland site managers.
The deadline to complete the survey is 4 September 2023. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete.

If you would like the online survey to be translated into another language, please contact the Secretariat at spwg@ramsar.org to provide you with a Word version that you can translate. The Strategic Plan consultants can then create an online version for you that you can then distribute.
