Extension of deadline for Wetland City Accreditation applications

Please find below a message from the Co-Chairs of the Independent Advisory Committee regarding the extension of the deadline for Wetland City Accreditation applications.
At the 23rd meeting of the Independent Advisory Committee (IAC) for the Wetland City Accreditation (WCA) scheme held on 24 October 2023, the Committee considered requests from Contracting Parties to extend the deadline for new applications. The Parties had indicated a need for more time to complete national processes related to the review of proposals by candidate cities and the submission of applications. Based on the request for additional time, the IAC is pleased to announce the extension of the deadline for new WCA applications by three months, from 30 November 2023 to 29 February 2024. The deadline for applications for renewal of accreditation status remains 30 November 2023. All other application guidelines and procedures remain unchanged.
