Extension of deadline: 6th Joint Work Plan of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Convention on Wetlands

The notification below invites Contracting Parties and Observer Organizations to submit views on the draft of the 6th Joint Work Plan of the Convention on Wetlands and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
Please note that the deadline for submitting comments has been extended to 14 March 2024. Submissions should be made using the provided form and sent via an official letter to secretariat@cbd.intand secretariat@ramsar.org.

The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) are pleased to share the draft of the 6th Joint Work Plan of the two Conventions, prepared pursuant to Convention on Wetlands Resolution XIV.6 Enhancing the Convention’s visibility and synergies with other multilateral environmental agreements and other international institutions.
The 6th Joint Work Plan seeks to enhance the conservation, restoration and sustainable/wise use of wetlands by aligning objectives and actions under the two Conventions, towards the full achievement of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
Contracting parties are invited to submit views on the 6th Joint Work Plan as soon as possible but no later than 29 February 2024. Submissions should be made using the enclosed form sent through an official letter by e-mail to secretariat@cbd.int and secretariat@ramsar.org.
Submissions will be considered by the Secretariats in finalization of the 6th Joint Work Plan, which will be presented to the fourth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation of the CBD, 21–29 May 2024 and the 63rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the Convention on Wetlands, 3-7 June 2024.
