Recipients 2025 Ramsar Wetland Conservation Awards

The Secretariat is pleased to present the winners of the ninth edition of the Ramsar Wetland Conservation Awards, as approved by Standing Committee during its 64th meeting held from 20 January to 24 January 2025 in Gland, Switzerland.

Laura Gonzalez, Executive Director of Marea Verde in Panama, – Recipient of the 2025 Ramsar Wetland Conservation Award for Innovation, recognizing contributions to the conservation and wise use of wetlands through an innovative technique or approach.

Iman Ebrahimi, CEO and Founder, Avaye Boom Bird Conservation Society, Iran (Islamic Republic of) – Recipient of the 2025 Ramsar Wetland Conservation Award for Young Wetland Champions, recognizing young people between 18 and 30 years old for their contribution to the wise use of wetlands.

Dayana Blanco Quiroga, Co-Founder Uru Uru Team and indigenous leader in Bolivia - Recipient of the 2025 Ramsar Wetland Indigenous Peoples Conservation and Wise Use Award, recognizing groups or individuals for outstanding leadership in wetland projects either led by or involving Indigenous Peoples.

Each winner will receive the Evian Special Prize of USD 10,000 provided by Danone and will be honoured at an Awards ceremony during the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Convention on Wetlands (COP15), to be held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe from 23 July to31 July 2025.
