Convention on Wetlands National Report Data System (NRDS)
Date: 28.04.2026
The NRDS is a new online platform developed to improve access to information submitted by Contracting Parties through their National Reports. For the first time, data reported to the Convention across multiple COP cycles have been brought together in a single, centralized system. The platform currently contains information from National Reports submitted for six COPs, from COP10 (2008) to COP15 (2025), and future reports will be imported directly from the Convention’s Online Reporting System.
The purpose of the NRDS is to make reported information easier to consult, compare, and analyse by presenting information from different COP cycles in a harmonized and structured way. Users can quickly and easily access information and make use of built‑in filters and visualization tools to explore the data. Time-series views for specific questions or for strategic plan indicators help identify patterns and trends over time at national, regional, and global levels.
The system supports Contracting Parties, the Secretariat, and other stakeholders in better understanding progress, challenges, and priorities related to the implementation of the Convention, and provides the basis for the preparation of the Global Implementation Report to the COP.
Contracting Parties are invited to visit https://nrds.ramsar.org and explore the system. Questions or feedback may be addressed to: nationalreports@ramsar.org.![]() |
