Invitation to the 22nd meeting of the Ramsar Convention STRP

The Ramsar Secretariat is pleased to invite you on behalf of the STRP Chair to the twenty-second meeting of the Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP22), which will take place from 18-22 March 2019 at the Ramsar Secretariat’s headquarters in Gland, Switzerland.
Please contact immediately the Ramsar Secretariat at if you plan on attending this meeting. Additional information then will be sent to you.
The meeting will start at 0900 h on Monday, 18 March 2019 and end in the afternoon on Friday, 22 March 2018. The main purpose of this meeting will be to develop the new work plan of the STRP (2019-2021).
Meeting documents will be available on the Ramsar web site in English, in due course, at: https://www.ramsar.org/event/22nd-meeting-of-the-strp.
You should plan to arrive in Switzerland no later than Sunday, 17 March 2019 and depart no earlier than the evening of Friday, 22 March or the morning of Saturday, 23 March 2019. If you are planning to travel to Geneva by plane, you should arrive in the Geneva airport (GVA).
Participants may need a visa for Switzerland and/or for countries where they may have to transit. It can take up to 4 weeks to obtain a visa for Switzerland. Please contact your nearest Swiss representation as early as possible. Travellers who submit their request too late run the risk of not obtaining a visa. If you need an invitation letter, please reach out to us.
Please note that due to financial limitations, we are not in a position to provide financial assistance to facilitate participation. Therefore, participants must make their own travel arrangements.
Together with the STRP Chair, we are currently preparing the agenda for STRP22 and this will be sent to you in due course, along with other meeting documents.
Participants requiring printed versions of meeting documents are kindly requested to bring their own.
