Side event details
How can quality audiovisual presentations of Ramsar sites contribute to raise awareness within the broad public, especially young people, and mobilize in an educational and solution perspective?
During the site event, we would like to share and exchange experiences on producing and using audiovisual material on Ramsar sites for communication to the broader public, especially young people, and education purposes.
As example, we will show our several award-winning short film on the Geneva Ramsar site, broadcasted on TV5 Monde and national TV as well as a teaser on the diversity of the 11 Ramsar sites in Switzerland.

Geneva is a densely populated international Swiss county with a humanitarian vocation. But it’s also a place that conceals natural treasures, much less known to the public, including the Ramsar site “Geneva Rhone, Valley of the Allandon and of the Laire”. That’s what Ophélia and Yannick discover through sports, and meeting with people taking care of this site.
We will finish with a tribute to Paul Ouédraogo, former Ramsar Senior Advisor for Africa, a source of inspiration for all citizen of the world.
The side-event is followed by a cocktail dinner.
On Friday 11th, a webinaire will take place on planetary boundaries and wetlands. More informations can be found here.
