Side event details
This side event is submitted by the Convention’s Science and Technical Review Panel (STRP) to maintain and enhance the profile and visibility of the Global Wetland Outlook and the STRP. It will provide a forum for Contracting Parties, IOPs, STRP observers and other participants present at COP14 to support and provide input to the next work cycle of the STRP.
Introductory presentations will be provided by the STRP Chair, Secretariat and STRP Regional Experts, summarising the Global Wetland Outlook 2021, recent products and STRP modus operandi, to facilitate an open discussion among participants.
The side event aims to achieve three specific outcomes, specifically to: 1) identify the ‘urgent global issues’ that next iterations of the GWO may focus on, 2), receive input on how to improve Global Wetland Outlook (GWO) publications and products and 3) maintain and enhance synergies with Contracting Parties, IOPs, and observers to support the work of the STRP.
