Centering around the conference theme of "Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future",Side event will focus on wetland protection experience exchanging and sharing, promote the sustainable wetland development, jointly plan a new chapter in global wetland protection.This side event aims to build bridges by sharing experiences, learn from each other, form a joint force, reach consensus or cooperation intentions, jointly contribute to wetland restoration, and work together to build a community of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.We will invite the Director from the Convention on Wetlands Management Office, P.R.China to serve as the host of the side event.
Agenda:
1.Opening remark by Vice Administrator at NFGA ,China,summarizing China's outstanding contributions, exemplary role, and international leadership in implementing the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.
2.Opening remark by Representatives from the Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands .
3.A keynote speech titled "China's Wetland Protection Actions" by DG, introducing the general situation of China's wetlands, the current status of protection, the existing problems, and the utilization situation. The report will systematically explain China's implementation of the Convention on Wetlands from three dimensions: institutional innovation, technological breakthroughs, and global collaboration.
4.Experts to share excellent cases of wetland restoration and protection,boost the mature and feasible experience and technology worldwide.
5.The International Mangrove Center to share innovative measures in wetland protection and restoration. These measures include the application of cutting-edge technologies and large-scale ecological restoration projects.
6.Director from the Department of Wetland Management of NFGA to share China's governance technologies, monitoring systems, and management models in the process of controlling Spartina alterniflora. These will provide extremely valuable solutions and intellectual inspirations for the global control of Spartina alterniflora and the ecological restoration of wetlands.
7.The East China Academy of Inventory and Planning of NFGA to share the representative projects of the UNDP-GEF Migratory Protection Network Project, helping countries strengthen cooperation in the field of ecological protected area construction.
8.The representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, will deliver a speech,introducing China's achievements in wetland protection and convention implementation. Additionally, he will put forward an initiative about global wetland protection united action,appealing all parts of the world struggle together for high-quality development of wetlands.
