Side event details
Our event will discuss the best approaches to organizing transboundary Ramsar sites. Currently, the Central Asian countries are working hard to create national protected areas and include existing areas in international categories - Key Biological Areas, Important Bird Areas and the UNESCO Natural Heritage List. Thus, the organized meeting will allow us to discuss our national initiatives in the region. Particular attention will be paid to the importance of these wetlands for migratory birds on the Central Asian Flyway. Representatives of all Central Asian countries will take part in the event. We will be grateful for the participation of neighboring countries (Mongolia, China, Iran). The meeting will be moderated by Uzbekistan. The meeting program will be agreed upon a little later, since the issue of participation of a number of experts is being resolved in COP-15 from the region. We are also waiting for confirmation of participation, including from sponsor organizations with which we work in the region.
