Side event details

This side event brings together Wildlife Conservation Action (WCA) in Zimbabwe, Sexaxa Women’s Enterprise in Botswana, and Green Botswana Trust to explore practical, community-driven solutions to wetland conservation. It will spotlight two grassroots models—the Community Guardianship Approach in Zimbabwe and the Sexaxa Village model that demonstrate how local communities are shaping conservation strategies while promoting sustainable livelihoods. 

The session is designed to encourage dialogue around inclusive conservation, the integration of traditional knowledge, and the values of cross-border collaboration in protecting wetland ecosystems
